Postdoc position in the field of surface nano-functionalization/ bio-conjugation at the Department of Materials Engineering in Ben-Gurion University of Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel.
A postdoc position is open at the department Material Engineering in Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, for a highly multidisciplinary project dealing with the programmed assembly of inorganic and organic nanostructures, for the following future applications: 1. Integration of 1D semiconductor nanostructures into functional circuits 2. Bi-functional molecular-scale biomimetic surfaces for the spatial regulation of the cross-talk between transmembrane proteins in cells The project will involve the study and development of the nanoscale-controlled organization onto lithographically patterned functionalities using selective conjugations. In the first phase of the project, the main effort will be on the development of the novel orthogonally functionalized heterogeneous nanopatterns. In the second phase, the focus will be on the selective attachment of nanostructures and proteins to the obtained heterogeneous functionalities. Requirements: Strong background in surface chemical and biochemical functionalization, bio-conjugation, click chemistry, fluorescent microscopy, SAMs, surface characterization, AFM, (including liquid phase AFM) Additional skills that will be welcome although not a mandatory: nanofabrication, nanolithography, SEM. The postdoc position is initially for two years and can be extended.
