The Central Transportation Planning Staff (CTPS) of the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking a transportation planner to manage all aspects of the MPO’s Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), a federally required document that describes the programming of federal funds for transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Boston metropolitan region. This talented professional will also engage in other metropolitan transportation-planning activities to support the MPO's continuous, comprehensive, cooperative (3C) transportation-planning certification process, as needed.
Previous MPO experience and knowledge of the MPO process are desirable.
The TIP Manager will oversee development of the annual TIP document and its periodic amendments. Activities include:
The TIP Manager also will provide policy, process, and technical support for the development of other certification documents, such as the Long-Range Transportation Plan, and Air Quality Conformity; and activities like performance-based planning.
