The City of Phoenix seeks a highly skilled, large public agency engineering professional who possesses strong leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships of trust with stakeholders. The Assistant Street Transportation Director assists the Street Transportation Director in managing a department of 600 employees, directs and reviews the work of assigned departmental divisions/sections, and manages special City projects as requested by the Director and City Manager. Responsibilities include performing a major role as the traffic expert in the department. In this role the incumbent manages two of the five divisions and may change assignments on a rotating basis; Traffic Services, Street Maintenance, Design & Construction Management, Management Services and/or Transportation Planning & Programming. This is an executive-level position who supervises management, technical, professional, and support staff. The Assistant Director works with a broad spectrum of individuals and groups, including elected officials, City administrators, community leaders, labor groups, and customers.

$85,197 - $144,851 annually. Appointment can be made above the minimum depending upon qualifications
