The ideal candidate should be energetic, proactive, and results oriented. The person will capture sales through technical differentiation at existing and prospect accounts. The ability to establish trust, credibility and a strong relationship with multiple buyer influences is a must. Responsibilities-Deliver profitable sales growth and operating profit consistent with Oxbow’s overall objectives with a focus on forecasting, prospecting, price management and new business development.-Establish and maintain relationships with multiple key decision makers at current and potential customers, using the Oxbow Carbon organization to strengthen and broaden those relationships when appropriate.-Understand the value of Oxbow’s products and application technology in developing pricing recommendations. Recognize and expand opportunities at existing customers bringing solutions and value to customers.-Develop an account plan for each account, incorporating a fully developed customer needs analysis, including long and short term goals and tactics, pricing strategy and negotiate customer agreements and contracts.-Understand competitive activity and strategies within assigned area/group of customers. Monitor competitive activity and maintain competitive intelligence databases.
Qualifications-Bachelor’s degree is required (Chemistry or Engineering degrees are preferred).-A minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience is required, with strong preference for activated carbon or chemical sales.-Creative spirit combined with excellent organization skills. -Experience working with a variety of functions at the customer level; i.e. Technical, Purchasing, Engineering, Business Leadership. -Technical knowledge of activated carbon is preferred.-Availability to travel at least 50% of the time.
