Louisiana Tech University (LA Tech) is located in the north-central part of the state of Louisiana in Ruston (pop. 25,000 approx.). Established in 1894, LA Tech is a selective admissions university awarding bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. The total student enrollment in Fall 2017 is 12,873. The Civil Engineering program invites Ph.D. and M.S. applicants to join Dr. C. Shawn Sun’s research group. Dr. Sun’s research interests include high performance concrete and steel structures, innovative bridge systems, evaluation of existing concrete structures, and instrumentation and monitoring of structures.
