The successful candidate will divide their time equally between teaching and research activities as related to agricultural systems management. The appointee will teach courses that contribute to educating students in our largest departmental undergraduate major (Agricultural Systems Management) and contribute expertise to a new degree program in precision agriculture. The undergraduate teaching needs include courses in agricultural systems management, GPS and precision agriculture, electric power systems, and agricultural machinery. The appointee must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and student mentoring. In addition to teaching, the appointee will develop a regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized research program related to improving adoption of on-farm technology. The appointee will lead applied research activities related to precision agriculture hardware/software and work on the development and application of online decision support tools.
