The senior Environmental Engineer is the principal advisor and planner in support of engineering activities as they relate to the fluoridation of public water systems. The Engineer will provide engineering assistance and technical oversight to international, federal, regional, state, and local communities for public water fluoridation operations.
The applicant must possess knowledge related to the following: 1) environmental engineering and the ability to apply this knowledge to community water fluoridation and to general fluoridation activities of the division; 2) regulatory requirements for public water systems and guidance and recommendations on water fluoridation; 3) the ability to develop implement, evaluate, report, and disseminate findings for studies and research projects which are related to fluoridation engineering and community water fluoridation; and 4) the ability to train and educate state and regional engineers, water plant operators, and national and state dental public health personnel in fluoridation engineering.
