Quality Engineer ROHO, Inc., a member of the Permobil Group family of manufacturers of advanced rehabilitation technology and a global leader in wheelchair cushion and support surface products is seeking a Quality Engineer for our world-class manufacturing facility located in Belleville, IL (St. Louis, MO metropolitan area). This position works with all ROHO operations establishing standards and ensuring quality and consistency of each ROHO product, leading evaluation and qualification of suppliers and raw materials, and ensuring that various Company product lines meet specifications and standards.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from college or university and 2 years related experience or associate degree and five years related experience.• Experience: Two to five years of related experience in a manufacturing environment desired with a mechanical aptitude/technical background. Other helpful experience: Experience with standard industry process and packaging equipment; automation and/or process control system experience; comprehensive understanding of supporting process control systems related documentation; Project Management experience.• Requirements: MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project); proficient in computer-assisted engineering software and equipment; good follow thru skills with the ability to coordinate projects from start to completion; root cause analysis and problem solving; technical writing; knowledge of 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, DFMEA, corporate policies, and industry best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Qualifying appropriate suppliers; interacting with suppliers on quality related concerns; studying manufacturing and engineering requirements; conferring and negotiating with suppliers; devising testing methods and procedures, including receiving inspection instructions and sample plans. • Evaluating and the disposition of non-conforming material; studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.• Assisting in implementing supplier corrective actions; supporting the Director of Quality and Regulatory Compliance with data analysis; monitoring and analyzing warranty data and providing feedback to leadership; coordinating work with Process Engineering, Product Development, Product Management, and Compliance departments to define the product quality requirements and ensure these requirements are satisfied; working with outside vendors, suppliers, and customers to define the product quality requirements and ensure quality compliance. • Interacting with raw material suppliers, sales staff, and customers as a liaison when necessary; accomplishing miscellaneous duties as needed to maintain the safest working environment, maintain the aspects of confidentiality, and maintain or enhance the performance of this position, the QC department, and the company; performing special assignments such as providing information for work instructions or Quality Alerts.
