The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a Medical Geneticist at the rank of Associate (non track), Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor (tenure or non-tenure track). The individual selected will join the Division of Medical Genetics to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as an attending physician in medical genetics clinics and on the genetics consultation service.
Requirements: Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalent Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine, or equivalent Board certified or eligible in clinical genetics, or equivalent License or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa Tenure track candidates require evidence of scholarly activity
Desirable qualifications: Board certified or eligible in biochemical genetics Clinical experience in pediatric medical genetics Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new programs Experience in patient-oriented research Teaching competence in pediatrics for medical students and residents Evidence of scholarly activity Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics comprises the medical and research staff of UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital. University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital is one of the nation’s top-ranked pediatric care and research institutions. It is the only university-affiliated hospital in Iowa devoted solely to the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults, and is Iowa’s only accredited Level 1 Regional Resource Pediatric Trauma Center. In 2016-17 University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital ranked in eight pediatric specialties in the Best Children’s Hospitals U.S. News and World Report, including cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, neonatology, nephrology, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology, and is the only hospital in Iowa to be nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report for children’s care. A new 189-bed children’s hospital opened in February 2017.
