Serves as supervisor and coach to PI staff. Leads team and conducts meetings of assigned staff. Frequent, extensive written and oral communication with Carilion management, project team members, other Carilion vendors. Works in a normal office environment and is responsible for travel to Carilion facilities in southwest Virginia, meetings and vendor sites, as needed. Supports the Culture of Excellence and actively practices the Carilion Clinic's Mission, Values, and Guiding Principles.
Education: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business, management engineering or related field required.Master's degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in healthcare process improvement and/or project management and two (2) years in a leadership position. Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (CLSSBB), Project Management Institute (PMI) project management certification, Professional Engineer (PE) license, or other professional certification in a related field highly desirable.
Must be licensed to legally operate a motor vehicle in Virginia or otherwise have the ability to move independently among Carilion sites.
