The Shiley Eye Institute announces the opening of a postdoctoral fellowship position funded by an NEI Institutional Training Grant.
The Shiley Eye Institute is the only academic institution in the San Diego area with comprehensive programs for the clinical care of patients with eye disorders, cutting edge research on surgical techniques and treatments of eye diseases, education in the field of ophthalmology and innovative outreach to the community.
A postdoctoral position is available with Dr. Wonkyu Ju in the Department of Ophthalmology, Shiley Eye Institute, University of California San Diego. The current position will involve joining a large multi-disciplinary team focused on generating and analyzing genomic and transcriptomic data and evaluating candidate signaling pathways using experimental model systems in glaucoma and neuroscience.
The fellowship requires a PhD in biomedical sciences awarded in the past two years and demonstrated experience in genomics, cellular and molecular biology or mitochondrial biology. Excellent writing and communication skills are desirable.
