Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Junior Environmental Engineer to join our remediation practice in Phoenix, AZ.Have you recently graduated with a Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering degree? Key Responsibilities•Assist senior engineers and project team members in the development of environmental remediation reports, engineering calculations, design plans, and numerical methods of data analysis•Sample soil, water, air and waste to characterize contamination and evaluate remedial progress•Prepare Work Plans, Operation and Maintenance Plans, and Sampling and Analysis Plans supporting site investigation and remediation projects•Participate in routine operations and maintenance activities to support groundwater and soil remediation systems (e.g., soil vapor extraction systems)•Compile and evaluate data in an organized fashion, following data management and network standards•Learn state and federal environmental regulations as they relate to the management and remediation of contaminated sites•Participate in training events, project meetings, and engineering team meetings•Work and travel safely, follow company and site safety standards and training requirements•Learn and practice company codes for ethics and business conduct
Skills / Qualifications Required•BS or MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering degree•Strong interest in working on problems in the environmental, hydrogeological, and water resources areas, including problems associated with remediation of contaminated sediments and groundwater•Strong mathematical and numerical computing/programming skills•Must be a self-starter with good written and verbal communication skills•Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours/travel to project sites primarily in AZ•Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy•Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookPreferred•Environmental consulting experience with remediation technologies, soils classification, site investigation, environmental compliance, and environmental chemistry•40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training •Experience with AutoCAD•Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam/Engineer-in-Training (EIT) ExambWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
