The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Clarkson University invites applications to fill a full-time, tenure-track position in Structural and Materials Engineering. The position is expected to be filled at the assistant professor level. Candidates with an exceptional record may also be considered at the associate or full professor level. Preference will be given to applicants who possess an outstanding record of accomplishment. Junior candidates with superior potential are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have an interest in collaborative research that complements and augments existing expertise among the faculty in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (http://www.clarkson.edu/cee) and aligns with one or more of Clarkson’s interdisciplinary research centers including the Center for Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP) (http://www.clarkson.edu/camp) and the Clarkson Institute for a Sustainable Environment (ISE) (http://www.clarkson.edu/academics/ise). The average annual external research fund for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the last three years exceeded $5 million. The Department offers bachelors, masters and PhD degrees.
Candidates are expected to have received their Ph.D., or completed all requirements and submitted their dissertation before starting the position in Fall 2018. All candidates would be expected to pursue a vigorous, nationally visible, externally funded research program and maintain a strong commitment to teaching at all levels.
