We are looking for a Principal Advisor - Environment to oversee planning and project execution of Boron’s air quality, land management, biodiversity and closure programs. The role continuously interacts with regulators, non-governmental organizations, community leaders, and key Boron personnel.
Rio Tinto Borates operates globally providing borates to world markets. Recognised as a leader in the industrial minerals industry due to product quality, supply reliability and technical support; we are proud to make modern life work. From our location in Boron, California we supply refined borates which are key ingredients in fiberglass, glass, ceramics, fertilisers, wood preservatives and many other products.
What the role entails
Due to the extensive air permitting requirements at Rio Tinto Borates California operations, this Principal Advisor - Environment is heavily focussed on air quality and emissions management but also includes oversight of our land management, biodiversity and closure programs.
This role is a great opportunity to support Rio Tinto Borates environmental team members in the development innovative project management solutions based on extensive stakeholder engagement.

To be successful in this role you will bring your strong institutional knowledge of operations, environmental regulations, reclamation, product stewardship, internal and external stakeholders, air quality management, ecosystem management, and land use management skills.
Additionally, the Principal Advisor - Environment role requires a strong understanding of standards, policies and strategies as they relate to air, land, and biodiversity.
