Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is looking for an Asbestos Inspection and Abatement Professional to join an experienced team of other professionals performing work for large industrial clients in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. You will work under the direction of senior construction management personnel in a collaborative team environment.Work LocationSeattle, WA or Portland, OR Key Responsibilities•Lead a team to perform asbestos and other regulated building material assessments to assist in planning for future abatement, material management, and demolition at client workplaces•Conduct safety assessments including walk-through surveys, inspections and hazard control evaluations at demolition and/or construction work sites•Prepare concise technical reports on the assessments conducted and provide recommendations to abate or manage identified materials during demolition or construction projects•Interpret routine inspection and abatement requirements and regulations•Conduct air sampling to measure worker exposure to various contaminants•Assist senior construction management personnel in coordinating, planning and executing projects•Responsible for the quality of his/her own work and satisfying client specifications
Skills / Qualifications Required•AHERA Asbestos Inspector•AHERA Project Designer•Bachelor of Science degree in construction management, engineering, environmental health, industrial hygiene or related field•A minimum of five to ten years’ experience performing asbestos surveys and abatement oversight in manufacturing or industrial settings•Knowledge of industry occupational safety and health regulations for general industry and construction settings •Strong verbal and written communication skills•Ability to work with others at all levels of the organization•Ability to work independently and deliver high quality of work on time•Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products and their use (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)•Must have a US Passport, be a US Citizen able to pass a U.S. Security Clearance and drug testPreferred•AHERA Supervisor/Competent Person credentials•AHERA building inspector license in other statesPhysical Requirements•Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as, hard hats, ear plugs, safety glasses, respirators, steel-toed boots, fall protection harnesses•Must be able to enter confined spaces and comfortable working at height•Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders and stand for extended periods of timeAbout 50% of travel is required throughout North America & within Pacific Northwest.
