Supervision Received and ExercisedReceives general supervision from the Director and Chief of Transit and Rail Programs. May exercise functional and technical direction over professional staff as needed.
This is a single-position classification responsible for administering SBCTA's railroad right of way and property right of use agreements as well as providing oversight of consultant assisting the Transit & Rail Department with project related right of way activities. The Right Of Way Administrator works under limited supervision and is expected to work independently, apply well developed technical and analytical knowledge and exercise judgment and initiative serving the agency's mission. This class is distinguished from the Director of Transit and Rail Programs and Chief of Transit and Rail Programs in that the Director and Chief have overall responsibility for all functions of the Transit and Rail Department consisting of project delivery, supervising personnel and developing, implementing, and interpreting public policy.
Education and/or Experience:Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Business, Public Administration, Real Estate or a closely related field and at least three (3) years of progressively responsible analytical or administrative experience in management of real property for public use and/or negotiating the leasing and management of properties for commercial revenue or public use.
