Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to support a large electrical distribution/solar project at a DOD base on an island in the Pacific. This position will oversee safety for the onsite construction activities for the project. Key Responsibilities•Support the Project Team by managing project safety and subcontractors compliance with safety program•Review daily subcontractor safety performance and take action as necessary•Prepare daily safety reports, to include safety meeting topics/attendance, AHA’s, and results of inspections conducted•Incident investigation, reporting, and root cause analysis•Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use•Promotes safe practices at the job site•Enforces safety guidelines•Responds to employees’ safety concerns
Skills / Qualifications Required •Must be a U.S. Citizen•10 years of experience with onsite supervision of construction safety•Experience with US Federal Government safety policies and procedures (EM 385)•Experience with remote construction sites•Experience with safety oversight of medium voltage distribution systems and solar arrays•Proficient computer skills•Strong organizational and leadership skills•Strong written and oral communication skillsPreferred•Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction or a relevant Engineering field•Completion of OSHA 30 hour safety course•Certified CPR and First Aid•Experience with UXO identification and removalCompany Overview Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
