1. Under minimal supervision from the QA manager, responsible for inspecting supplier purchased parts/components to prints/drawings.2. Responsible for Documenting inspection results using standard QC forms and records (control plans, check lists).3. Inspection shall include machine parts, castings, cables and sheet metal. 4. Creates inspection control plans.5. Generates Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs) for all rejections (Incoming, WIP and Final).6. Performs final inspections on a wide variety of assemblies.
Experience and Technical Knowledge Required
Must have technical knowledge with the following:
• Measuring dimensions with tight tolerances (.0001”)• 10:1 Measurement Rule• Geometric Dimension and Toleranceing (GD&T)• Blueprint Reading/Interpretation• Basic Math Skills• Sampling plans and selecting random samples• 1st Article Inspections• Inspection Control Plans• Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs)
Use of the following metrology tools:1. Calipers2. Micrometers3. Bore Gages4. Dial Drop Indicators5. Indicator Groove Gages6. Electronic Height Gages7. Pin Gages8. Thread Plug and Ring Gages9. Surface Roughness10. Hardness Tester11. Surface plate set-ups (establishing datum’s)12. Optical Comparator
Looking for a minimum of 10 years of mechanical inspection experience with measuring machined parts, castings and sheet metal.
Active member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ)
ASQ Certified QA Inspector (preferred)
