The County of El Dorado is conducting this recruitment to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for the Planning and Building Department located in Placerville. It will also establish a list, for up to three months, which may be used to fill future full-time, part-time and extra-help vacancies.DEFINITION
This is the advanced, lead level in the professional planning series. Incumbents provide lead direction to planners and support staff and perform highly specialized and difficult planning functions. Incumbents are assigned to either advanced, environmental or current planning projects that require considerable professional knowledge and the use of independent judgment. This class is distinguished form Principal Planner in that the latter is the first full supervisory level with responsibility for either current, environmental or advanced planning or a number of grant funded projects.
Equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in city or regional planning, urban planning, or a closely related field, AND three years of professional planning experience. A Master's degree in city, regional or urban planning is desirable and may be substituted for one year of the experience outlined above.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
