Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently seeking a Section Leader to coordinate and work with Project Delivery Section staff in planning, overseeing, and implementing the operational deployment of advanced technology measurement and environmental data collection systems. Coordinates and works with Advanced Technology Products Section staff to ensure that measurement and data collection systems delivered are configured, tested, and ready for field deployment. Oversees the program to train and qualify operators and field team leaders deploying advanced technology measurement and data collection systems. Responsible for the development and maintenance of operational procedures (and related controlled documents) necessary to deploy and operate the advanced technology measurement and data collection systems. Coordinates and oversees the mobilization and commissioning of advanced technology measurement and data collection systems. Supervises personnel assigned to the Technology Deployment Section. Provides operational support to field personnel who are operating advanced technology measurement and data collection systems. Oversees the compilation, analysis, and reporting of data packages generated by the advanced technology measurement and data collection systems. Effectively communicate with customer and regulatory personnel in the field and in meetings. This is a full-time position based at the Grand Junction, CO Radiological Services & Engineering office.Key Responsibilities•Liaise with Project Delivery Section staff and Advanced Technology Products Section staff to ensure that project data objectives are clearly understood and that deployments are effective•Write plans to manage the mobilization, commissioning, and deployment of advanced technology measurement and data collection systems•Oversees the program to train and qualify personnel who deploy advanced technology measurement and data collection systems•Develop and maintain operational procedures (and related controlled documents)•May supervise one or more personnel trained as operators or field team leaders•Securely manage, analyze, and interpret various sensitive data streams•Use specialized equipment to collect & manage data and prepare analyses & reports•Maintain logs of field activities•Effectively communicate with clients, regulators, field technicians, and equipment operators•Set up, maintain, and calibrate equipment•Will work in the field on projects deploying advanced technology measurement and data collection systems. Travel to project sites estimated to be 25-50% of the time
Skills / Qualifications •Minimum of 2 years environmental field work or other directly relevant experience•AS or BS degree desired, or equivalent in experience and education•Understanding of the statistical bases underpinning the MARSSIM•Expert knowledge of computer operations, software communications protocols, data management, and computer networking•Experience on sites undergoing remediation due to the presence of radioactive materials•Proficiency in office software to include Windows OS, and MS Office, especially MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Word•Understanding of applicable scientific methods and technical methodologies•Ability to understand procedural manuals and execute work orders•Ability to write and prepare plans, procedures, training courses, reports, and forms•Ability to follow instructions with attention to detail•Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a wide range of audiences•Ability to work independently and with a team•Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, in challenging weather conditions•Flexibility to work in the field on projects deploying advanced technology measurement and data collection systems.
