The University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNE COM) seeks an outstanding individual to help manage existing programs—that support the research efforts of our faculty—and implement new programs and initiatives that are intended to bolster the research funding and improve the research experience for faculty and students. The College has a robust and active NIH-funded group of neuroscience researchers with a particular emphasis on pain. Additional strengths in research include but are not limited to anatomy, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, immunology and infectious diseases, and medical education. This individual will be key in supporting ongoing biomedical research and foster development of clinical research on campus and at our clinical sites for our faculty, students and residents.
•The Associate Dean of Research and Scholarship (ADRS) reports directly to the Dean of UNE COM.
•The ADRS provides leadership and vision to the research program of the College by leading the College in developing nationally recognized programs in research and scholarship.
•The successful candidate must hold a PhD, DO or MD and have research accomplishments which are nationally recognized with sustained NIH and/or extramural funding.
•Candidates who have proven leadership skills would be the most competitive and are encouraged to apply.
The University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine is the only medical school in Maine. It is located in Biddeford, Maine, approximately 30 minutes south of Portland and 90 minutes north of Boston.
