Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently seeking an Entry-Level Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) Coordinator to join our team in Durham, NC. Key ResponsibilitiesThe Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Coordinator (HSSEC) shall provide safety support on Facility Operations & Maintenance projects in the Durham, NC area. At a minimum, the HSSEC is responsible for the following:•Ensure workers have proper levels of safety training and coordinate overall task-specific safety training where required•Conduct New Employee Safety Orientation•Work with the HSSE Manager to prepare and coordinate Daily Safety Training topics•Present Daily Safety Training topics in an open forum to company employees and track daily and monthly safety requirements•Review Activity Hazard Analysis (AHAs) and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) to ensure they remain up-to-date for all employees•Work with the HSSE Manager to develop Site-Specific Safety Plans. Safety Plans are to be reviewed on an annual basis•Maintain the safety training database by entering all required training in a timely manner•Ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and used by work crews•Conduct, document and report all required monthly inspections•Investigate and analyze hazardous conditions, near-misses and incidents•Maintain HSSEC administrative files•Other tasks as required by the Project Manager or HSSE Manager
Skills / Qualifications The HSSEC shall be at least a high school graduate or equivalent and have:•Strong technical knowledge and background in regulatory standards and safety engineering•Experience in performing multi-task projects with tight completion deadlines•Manage time and resources efficiently and effectively•Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail•Good working skills using MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel•Demeanor that promotes safety consciousness, open-mindedness with positive approach to problem solving•Experience in developing and presenting safety training packages•Experience in managing the training requirements for facility O&M workers•Experience in briefing work crews and building occupants in the safety aspects of maintenance/construction work•Training in OSHA safety and/or industrial hygiene programs related to facility O&M, construction and environmental/infrastructure field work•Must be a US Citizen and pass a U.S. Government Background Investigation and pre-employment drug screenCompany Overview Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
