Section I: Scope
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Manhattan College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Water Resources Engineering. The position will be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level commencing Fall 2018.
Section II: Responsibilities
Reports to: Chairman of Civil & Environmental Engineering Department
Teach at both the undergraduate and graduate (M.S.) levels. Courses include those in specialty areas within water resources, such as hydraulic design, hydrology, groundwater, sustainable water supply, storm water management, and urban water infrastructure, as well as introductory engineering courses.
Section III: Qualifications
QualificationsApplicants must have a doctoral degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and must be qualified to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate (M.S.) levels. Additional requirements are an undergraduate degree in civil engineering or a related field and a professional engineering license or the ability to obtain one. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated expertise in multiple specialty areas within water resources, such as hydraulic design, hydrology, groundwater, sustainable water supply, storm water management, and urban water infrastructure. The candidate will be expected to initiate and sustain a scholarly research program. Candidates will be evaluated on the above requirements, as well as academic background, professional experience, communication skills, and potential for excellence in teaching, scholarly and professional activity and service to the College.
