Working side by side with a diverse team of analytical chemists, you will be expected to:
•Conduct of projects involving the determination of trace amounts of established and emerging environmental contaminants. •Method development and design of experiments using a variety of sample preparation and analytical instrumentation, including LC/MS, GC/MS, and tandem MS/MS for agrochemical, VOC, or other measurements. •Dissemination of scientifically-defensible results through presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and technical reports. •Active interaction and collaboration with research scientists on transdisciplinary projects. •Provide overall technical, fiscal, and client management of projects. •Oversee, mentor, and train staff members for conduct of experiments. •Actively support and lead the preparation of technical proposals to both public and private sector clients. •Expand RTI’s environmental accreditation portfolio.
•Ph.D. in analytical chemistry with minimum of 5 years of industrial experience or; •M.S. in chemistry with minimum of 10 years of directly relevant industrial experience. •U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance. •Excellent oral and written communication skills. •Demonstrated experience with quantitative chemical analysis. •Demonstrated project and/or staff leadership experience. •Demonstrated success functioning in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. •Experience with wet chemical extraction and cleanup techniques. •Hands-on experience working with advanced LC and GC-interfaced mass spectrometry instrumentation.
Experience operating in GLP/GMP/ISO environment is highly desired, but not required to be considered for this position
