Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions seeks a Staff Environmental Engineer or Geologist to support our growing environmental assessment and remediation practice. Key Responsibilities•Provide technical support to Project Managers on assessment and remediation programs•Coordinate and implement field sampling and provide oversight support for site characterization, environmental assessment and remediation projects - including soil boring and monitoring well installation, environmental sampling, field data collection and note taking, and soil and groundwater remediation oversight•Acts as a data gatherer and prepares deliverables including text, tables, charts, and figures•Follows company safety standards and site safety standards•Progression towards professional registration
Skills / Qualifications Requirements •One to three years’ experience with the performance of field data collection, soil/groundwater/stormwater/air sampling, well installations, drilling oversight, remedial actions, data reduction, and technical report preparation•Knowledge in construction of cross-sections, potentiometric maps, and calculation of hydrogeologic parameters such as horizontal or vertical gradient, groundwater flow direction, velocity or hydraulic conductivity•Strong written and verbal communications skills•Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related discipline•EIT or GIT certification, or the ability to obtain within one yearAdditional Desired Qualifications•Familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD, and contaminated groundwater visualization software•Knowledge of the behavior, transport, and transformation of contaminants in the subsurface•Civil site layout design or stormwater system design•OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER trainingCompany Overview Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
