The Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University, invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full-Professor Professor of Occupational and Environmental Health.
McGill University is one of Canada’s leading universities, and the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health is home to one of the largest concentration of methods -oriented faculty members with research interests in a variety of areas of application. The Department is one of the top academic units for epidemiology and biostatistics in the world, and it is coming together with the Institute for Health and Social Policy, the Biomedical Ethics Unit, McGill Global Health Programs and the AIDS Centre to create the McGill School of Population and Global Health. Occupational and Environmental Health will be an important part of the new School, is a priority area for the Department and we have taken steps to strengthen this area with recent recruits over the past few years.
We are looking for a senior scholar to lead efforts to build internationally recognized education and research programs in Occupational and Environmental Health. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated publication and teaching track-record, a demonstrated ability to obtain research grants as principal investigator as well as in the role of collaborator, in particular with junior faculty members.
The candidate is also expected to be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (research, teaching, supervision of graduate students and involvement in academic and administrative committees).
Qualifications and Education requirements
Candidates must have a doctorate in a discipline relevant to Occupational and Environmental Health particularly epidemiology, hygiene and measurement sciences. The candidate must have relevant research and teaching experience. Necessary qualifications for the position include evidence of research productivity (peer-reviewed publications), leadership skills, outreach and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
