The Department has a dynamic group of faculty active in research across various areas of chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, and materials science and engineering. Moreover, the successful candidate will have many opportunities to interact and collaborate with the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, FSU College of Medicine, FSU Interdisciplinary Program in Materials Science and Engineering, FSU Institute of Molecular Biophysics, FSU Jim Moran School of Entrepreneurship, and FSU Departments of Scientific Computing, and Chemistry and Biochemistry as well as the FAMU Departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry and Physics. As such we provide an outstanding research and entrepreneurship based education to one of the most diverse student populations in the US. Faculty are employed by one or the other of our partner universities but hold joint faculty privileges at both universities.
Priority will be given to candidates in the area of biomedical nanomaterials but outstanding candidates in related areas such as biomaterials and cellular engineering will be considered. The successful candidate is expected to create a research program that is internationally-recognized and well-funded, collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers across campus, and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in education through teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and the supervision of undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral researchers.
