Overview / Responsibilities Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is seeking an Entry-level Civil Engineer to support stormwater, water utility, and roadway infrastructure design projects in the Lakeland, FL office. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. Master’s degree a plus. AutoCAD and GIS training or knowledge is desired, and experience with ICPR and WaterCAD considered beneficial. Must have an Engineering Intern or Engineer-In-Training designation or be able to obtain within 6 months.Key Responsibilities•Serves as engineer intern on civil engineering related projects•Organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing assignments and tasks•Performs standard or routine calculations; Responsible to input data into and / or run standard or, in some cases, advanced computer programs under supervision•Preparing and checking project design, calculations, and drawings under direct supervision•Assist with preparing engineering reports documenting the work performed and findings of investigations•Compiles information from reports and published documents; Evaluates and / or analyses the compiled information following standard methods or specific instructions
Skills / Qualifications •0 - 2 years of prior related work experience•Bachelor’s Degree in related field required•Engineer-in-Training Certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months•Experience with desktop and industry-specific software (e.g., MSOffice, AutoCAD, ESRI GIS, and ICPR) desired•Must have sound written and verbal communication skills•Ability to work in varying environments (office, lab and field settings).•Ability to establish effective internal and external working relationship•Ability to communicate clearly with clients, supervisor or project manager regarding work assignments required•Valid Florida driver’s license and must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyDiversity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
