Kiewit Engineers has an immediate opening in its Materials Division for a Concrete Engineer. This position reports to the Senior Concrete Engineer. As a member of the group, this individual will assist the Company by developing concrete knowledge for all stages of concrete operations (pre-bid, concrete development, placement, curing). The individual will act as the company point of contact for Jobsites. Responsibilities include:• Assist the Senior Concrete Engineer with pre-bid evaluation and operation planning (i.e., placing procedures, pumping, constructability reviews, mix design, value engineering, troubleshooting, proposal development, and training• Assist the Senior Concrete Engineer in reducing concrete-related quality issues through proactive engagement with Jobsite personnel
Qualifications This position requires the ability and drive to expand knowledge of concrete production and use of concrete in construction. The successful individual must possess a passion for becoming an expert in concrete material, as well as the desire to be regarded as a professional in the area of concrete• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the concrete arena (mix designs, thermal control, failure analysis/troubleshooting, technical requirements, testing requirements, applicable codes, industry standards and best practices, ACI manual of concrete practice, etc.)• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related field, with demonstrated concrete knowledge and experience Master's degree is preferred• EIT preferred• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels of the organization• The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment• Must meet requirements of eligibility to work on Federal Projects and international projects
• Typical travel between 20-50%
