Westermo designs and manufactures data communication devices for applications in the most physically demanding environments. The products are used both in social infrastructure, such as transport, water and energy supplies, as well as in process industries, such as mining and petrochemical.

The rail market is a major focus for Westermo globally, and the growing North America team is actively seeking a National Rail Sales Manager to play a key role in strengthening and developing Westermo’s market leadership in the Rail vertical market. • Responsible for Rail Industry Sales in North America, across the entire business segment, both trackside and on-board• Work in conjunction with the Rail Market Director in implementing and driving the rail business platform • Develop deep customer relationships to align specifications while collecting market requirements and collaborating cross-functionally within the organization• Actively apply business acumen to develop thorough and aggressive business plans encompassing sales pipelines, opportunity management, pricing strategy, and proposals • Identify key targets and key customers to drive growth • Drive relevant market trend analysis initiatives • Collaborate with the Global Rail Team • Represent Westermo at rail industry events and industry committee activities
• Solutions-minded sales approach; comfortable working with value-based selling• Significant knowledge and experience with the rail industry in freight and passenger rail; on-board and trackside • Demonstrated technical ability and aptitude to learn technical processes • 5 years or more of sales experience, preferably with technically complex products and technologies• Strong track record, demonstrated success in sales and business development• Proactive, driven mind-set with a winning attitude and the ability to work under pressure • Excellent communication, listening, and comprehension skills• Ability to effectively work as part of a team • Self-motivated with a high level of organization and structure• Ability to travel
• Background and knowledge of industrial or commercial data communications • Rail customer applications knowledge within: Vital/non-vital train systems, interlocking, signalling, TCMS, ERTMS, PTC• Bachelor degree in a technical discipline• Contracts negotiation experience and background• Strong presentation and marketing skills • Experience working for an international company and collaborating across different markets • Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce• Spanish or French is a plus

• Westermo offers a competitive compensation and benefits package • Travel: North America approximately 50% and Internationally on a periodic basis• Location is flexible; however, due to the travel requirements, it is necessary that the individual is based near a major airport hub• All applicants must have permanent U.S. work authorization• The position will report to the Rail Market Director who is based out of the North America head office in Elgin, Illinois
