Overview / Responsibilities Amec Foster Wheeler Environment and Infrastructure, Inc. is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer / Project Manager with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering. Project experience should include traffic studies (including modeling) and design of traffic signals, lighting, signing/pavement markings, traffic control, ITS, traffic safety, and related ADA compliance. The ideal candidate needs to be self-motivated and able to work on projects with multidiscipline teams. Also, the candidate should have experience working with the ADOT and municipalities in Arizona. Key Responsibilities •Manage traffic engineering work and perform as traffic task lead on multidiscipline teams•Provide quality control review of traffic engineering efforts, including assessments, studies, models, and designs•Manage project scope, schedule, and budget•Work with and mentor junior and mid-level staff•Interface with clients, project teams, and other managers•Work effectively with team members as well as independently•Prepare scopes of work and fee estimates•Prepare statements of qualifications and proposals for traffic projects
Skills / Qualifications •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering•Registration as Professional Engineer (Civil) in Arizona•Registration as Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)•15 years of relevant experience with increasing levels of project complexity and management responsibility•Proficiency in the use of Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) with ADOT supplements, and Highway Capacity Manual (HCM)•Thorough understanding of ADOT design procedures & standards, standard details & specifications, and CAD standards for traffic elements (roadway capabilities a plus)•Experience in the use and application of Sign CADD, Visual, Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, Vissim, and Corsim software•Strong familiarity/maneuverability in the use of industry-leading design platforms, such as Bentley Microstation/InRoads and Autodesk AutoCAD/Civil 3D specific to traffic components/elements•Thorough understanding of MAG standard details & specifications, and knowledge of other local municipality supplements are a benefit•Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment•Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)•Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills•Ability to apply engineering principles to define and solve problems•Proficient in the technical development of proposals in response to bids/requests for proposals•Proficiency in MS Office application software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint•Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyDiversity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
