Overview / Responsibilities The Nashville Infrastructure Engineering/Design Services team of Amec Foster Wheeler is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to support our stormwater engineering practice. The successful candidate must have experience or exposure in stormwater design, civil/site design and construction document development. Clients that we serve range from local/state/federal agencies, various commercial clients, and Class I railroads. Key Responsibilities •Design of industrial/commercial site layouts for private and public clients•Development of grading/drainage, storm culverts, storm sewer systems, detention ponds, sediment and erosion control, minor roadway, sewer and water line plans•Preparation of engineering reports, plans and specifications for projects•Research code requirements, design procedure manuals, and municipality/ agency approval processes•Communicate and interact with project team members, clients and reviewing agency officials as required for projects
Skills / Qualifications Candidate must:•Have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited College/University•Have a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience or exposure to site and/or transportation development•Have an understanding of site drainage, storm water, and utility design•Have passed the FE exam and pursuing registration with the goal of obtaining professional licensure•Be well organized with the ability to multi-task and have good communication (written and oral) skills•Be client-focused and advancement oriented•Be proficient or familiar with various software, such as:?CAD software: AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and/or Microstation (InRoads) ?Storm Drainage Software: Hydroflow, Culvertmaster (Pondpack, HY-8, SWMM are a plus) ?Business software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)Diversity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
