The College of Engineering at North Dakota State University (NDSU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Chair, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE). The Chair must be an innovative and visionary leader who is committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, and enhancing the diversity, equity and inclusive excellence. The Chair reports to the Dean of the College of Engineering and is responsible for administrative, budgetary, and personnel decisions within the Department. The Chair will be responsible for overseeing curriculum issues, facility planning and program implementation and will serve as a mentor and evaluator of the faculty, and facilitate a collegial and productive work environment for a diverse group of faculty, staff and students. The chair is expected to lead the faculty and students in their quest for excellence in education and research, create a vision and long-term goals for the department. The Chair will work closely with the Industry Advisory Board, building relationships with industrial supporters and alumni. Candidates are expected to have extensive teaching and research experience and accomplishments deserving appointment as a tenured full professor.
