Market Analysis: A primary duty of the position is to provide analysis and coverage on trading activity in 2 to 3 market regions within the western United States. The Analyst is responsible for identifying, researching and collecting data on water right trades, obtaining and organizing documents and filings related to the transactions, and contacting and interviewing market participants. The Analyst is also responsible for updating and entering transaction data into Waterlitix™ - WestWater’s proprietary water market pricing database. The Analyst will also develop quarterly market reports that describe current trends and changes in trading activity and pricing. In addition, the Analyst will establish and maintain communication with the industry professionals within the region.
Valuation Projects: The Research Analyst will provide research support on water asset valuations, financial analysis, economic reports and other client deliverables completed through a collaborative process involving both associates and senior staff. The Analyst will be responsible for data collection, analysis, summary memos and drafting findings. The position will also include economic and financial modeling using Excel and other linear programming applications. Strong analytical and economic model skills are desirable.
Water Asset Transactions: The Research Analyst will participate in and support the transaction process with detailed research and analysis, beginning with deal origination and extending through closing and regulatory reviews. Through this work, the Research Analyst will gain highly valuable transactional capabilities and experience.
