The City of Elk Grove is seeking an experienced, motivated individual to perform complex, professional and technical work relating to a wide variety of traffic engineering functions, including transportation planning, design, and operations; oversight and supervision of a broad range of activities involving installation of traffic controls, analysis of collisions or traffic problems, the Speed Control Program, the Traffic Operations Center, and evaluation of the potential impacts of proposed developments. This is a journey level position in the registered engineer series which provides highly complex staff assistance to the Public Works Division Managers.
Education and Experience Guidelines - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities Education/Training:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in traffic engineering, civil engineering, transportation planning or related field.
Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in professional traffic engineering work including project management experience.
License or Certificate:
Possession of a current valid certificate of registration in the State of California as a Professional Traffic Engineer and/or Civil Engineer.
