The Technical Trainer, LRT Systems is a stand-alone position. This position is responsible for development and implementation of technical training instructions for the Light Rail Transit System that includes Track, Traction Power Signals and Communications, Fare collection equipment, related service equipment and wayside equipment. Typical duties include conducting and/or facilitating employee training, coordinating or developing training manuals, preparing and conducting competency evaluations, assessments, maintaining documentation and database of employee training, and preparing statistical reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electronics or a closely related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible professional-level experience related to training in a Light Rail Transit System, some understanding of train control systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), traction power and signals or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties such as those listed below. MEDICAL EXAMINATION: This position is safety sensitive. Employment for safety-sensitive positions is contingent on passing a physical examination performed by our examining physician. DRUG EXAMINATION: Applicants for positions defined as safety sensitive are required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and, subsequent to commencement of employment, will be subject to random, post- accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty, and follow up testing. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work Environment: Work in shop area, classroom setting or outdoors in all weather conditions. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, chemicals, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions and/or intense noise levels.
