The Transportation Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Hillsborough County’s Transportation Systems Program. This will include analyzing and producing a recommended annual project needs list for the present year, as well as, 5 and 10 year projections for the different programs utilizing approved methodologies and authorized budgets. Will also be required to investigate, identify, and assist with applications for available grant funding sources. The Transportation Systems Engineer leads and supervises the development of project feasibility, conceptual designs and scopes for emerging projects related to various programs including roadways, intersections, sidewalks, shared use trails, and other transportation related safety and capacity projects. The Engineer will provide support to other departments and the public that use Public Works’ issued manuals and policies. Close coordination with management, other County staff and consultants will be required.

Three years of post-registration experience as a Professional Engineer.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below; and
Registration in the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain a Professional Engineer's license in the State of Florida within six months of employment. Proof of application for a Florida Professional Engineer’s License must be submitted with the application, if Engineer currently holds a license in another state.
