City of Prescott Department of Public Works is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and collaborative licensed professional engineer to assist with the design and review of both City and private development projects, with an emphasis on utilities. Under general supervision of the City Engineer, will serve as primary source for utility design and installation with multiple divisions, departments and outside agencies to provide technical and administrative support on behalf of the department related to water and wastewater utilities. Although the majority of work will be utilities related, the engineer will be involved in design, review and other areas of work. Education and Experience: Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Must have a bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and possess registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona or be registered in another state and obtain Arizona registration within six (6) months of employment. Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license or obtain within 30 days of employment. Seven (7) years of civil engineering practice, including four (4) years in municipal water and sewer planning, engineering and project management. Experience in construction materials, procedures and practices may substitute for a portion of professional experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Physical and Visual Ability: sufficient to effectively and safely perform required duties and to safely operate required equipment and City vehicles as needed.
Hearing and Speaking Ability: sufficient to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate in person and over the telephone and e-mail.
