The senior region planner is responsible for working with a variety of internal and external partners (federal, state, and local agencies) to create comprehensive long-range transportation system development solutions, which respect and balance the needs and concerns of all affected parties.The person in this position is responsible for coordination with the Corvallis Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) and the Albany Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO). Duties in this role include interpreting federal and state requirements impacting MPOs, representing ODOT on MPO technical advisory committees, serving as the alternate ODOT representative on the MPO policy committee, evaluating the MPO's proposed Unified Planning Work Program, and authorizing payment for work performed by the MPO. The person also is responsible for coordination with the Cascades West area Commission on Transportation (CWACT), including interpreting applicable federal and state requirements, representing ODOT on the CWACT technical advisory committee and serving as the alternate ODOT representative at CWACT.This position also participates in the Region 2's development review processes, assessing the potential impacts of private development proposals. Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field; ANDThree (3) years of progressively responsible planning experience related to the job.Note: A master's degree in regional planning, public administration, social Science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience. OR Six (6) years of planning experience related to the job.Note: Course work in urban or regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field can substitute for up to two (2) year of the progressively responsible experience. A copy of your transcripts must be attached to your application to receive credit. Special Qualifications:Driving is an essential function of this position.
