Overview / Responsibilities Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is seeking a licensed and experienced Asbestos, and Indoor Air Quality Environmental Professional to be a key contributor in our Facilities Group. The position is based in our Pensacola, FL office, serving the panhandle and south Alabama. The position is full-time. Certified Industrial Hygienist a plus.The Building Sciences Professional position is responsible for managing, conducting, and overseeing asbestos, lead, indoor air-quality, moisture / mold and hazardous materials surveys, abatement oversight and air sampling. The ideal candidate will have current accreditation in the AHERA disciplines, have experience related to moisture and mold concerns in facilities with 5+ years of environmental industry experience providing building-related consulting services. Key Responsibilities•Assigned to projects involving industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead and mold•Performing and executing field activities and report writing and coordinating with clients while meeting schedule and budget constraints•Prepare Sampling and Analysis Plans, Workplans, Abatement Designs, Mold Remediation Protocols and post remediation evaluation and reporting•Provide abatement project oversight, air sampling, materials and waste sampling, data collection, monitoring hazardous materials contractors for regulatory and contractual compliance and routine client and contractor interactions•Data interpretation and report preparation•Regular client and internal communications regarding solutions to client's challenges and maintaining schedule, scope and budget•Perform contract administration, contractor oversight, effective communications with abatement and demolition / renovation contractors•Coordinate multiple ongoing tasks and executing work efficiently to maintain budget and schedules
Skills / Qualifications •BS degree in Environmental Sciences, Industrial Hygiene or related science field is a plus•5-8+ years of experience providing building-related consulting services in educational, commercial and industrial settings•Required current certifications include: AHERA Building Inspector, Management Planner, Project Designer (a plus)•Air Monitoring Specialist, NIOSH 582 or equivalent,•Florida Licensed Mold Assessor (preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months)•Candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug screening•Successful candidate must have the ability to work independently, be timely and thorough•Strong communication and interpersonal skills, computer competency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel•Technical report writing is required•This candidate shall be proficient at developing cost proposals and have a strong command of speaking / writing in English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus•Job activities will require the use of respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment.
