Graduate Program in Cytopathology
The Rutgers-School of Health Professions invites applications for two full-time, 12 month faculty positions in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences: a Program Director and a faculty position in the Master in Clinical Laboratory Science – Cytopathology track. Major responsibilities of the Program Director are to provide leadership and administration of the program in alignment with the strategic plan of the department and school, including the program budget, resource allocation, curricular planning and assessment, and accreditation. Responsibilities of both positions include campus and online course development and instruction in gynecologic, non-gynecologic, and fine needle aspiration cytology, graduate student research advisement, active participation in scholarly activities, and service to the university, school, and professional community. The positions are available in Summer 2017 (faculty member) and Spring 2018 (Program Director).
Qualifications for the Program Director include a doctoral degree, professional certification as a cytotechnologist, a minimum of 5 years of experience in cytotechnology including teaching and program administration, and a strong record of scholarship, including a history of peer-reviewed publications, and professional service.
Qualifications for the faculty member include a doctoral degree, professional certification as a cytotechnologist, a minimum of 3 years of experience in cytotechnology including teaching, and a record of scholarship and professional service. Candidates with a master’s degree will be considered if they have a scholarly portfolio and are matriculated in a doctoral program.

The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS) is a nationally recognized leader in educational programming and is housed in a brand new state-of-the-art laboratory facility on our Newark campus. CLS offers the first professional Doctorate in Clinical Laboratory Science (DCLS) program in the nation, an MS in Clinical Laboratory Science with tracks in Cytopathology and Medical Laboratory Science, and an undergraduate BS level program in Medical Laboratory Science.
