RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach 3 to 5 undergraduate and/or graduate Biological Engineering courses per academic year Advise undergraduate students Assist with assigned biological engineering design courses Assist with class field-trips and maintenance of teaching labs Facilitate undergraduate involvement in faculty research programs and/or internships Serve as a liaison with the Freshman Engineering Program and the College of Engineering to support departmental recruiting efforts
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS: Ability to work in inter? and trans?disciplinary teams Experience with computer software and modeling relevant to Biological Engineering academic programs Demonstrated record of effective interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to enhance the existing teaching program Willingness to recruit at high schools and/or within the Freshman Engineering Program
Preferred – PhD in disciplines such as biological, bio?systems, ecological or environmental engineering or closely related field is preferred, with at least one degree in engineering; and experience in teaching, research, extension and/or industry in the sustainable management of water, energy and food systems.
