We are looking for a highly-capable and energetic senior engineer to lead the asset management strategy for large diameter water pipelines and civil infrastructure. The position will direct specialized pipeline inspections, modeling, vulnerability and seismic engineering studies for pipelines and civil infrastructure including 77 miles of Precast Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP). The position will serve as project/program manager for the pipeline maintenance program and lead and direct rehabilitation projects on over 150 miles of large diameter steel and concrete pressure water pipelines and tunnels. They will direct and participate in the inspection of pipelines, tunnels, vaults, access roads, civil infrastructure, and new construction performed by District, contract, or consultant personnel. They will direct and review engineering staff work and negotiate and administer consultant and professional service contracts. They will represent the District in meetings or presentations to the public, contractors, and federal, state, and local agencies. They will perform a variety of technical tasks and analysis relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Five years of professional engineering experience.
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in an engineering discipline.
Possession of a valid California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate with two years of associated paraprofessional engineering experience.
License or Certificate:
Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California. This position will serve as the Engineer-of-Record and will be signing and stamping engineering drawings, specifications, technical analysis and modeling reports, and other technical documents.
