Work in a safe manner at all times. This includes adhering all federal, state, local established safety standards, as well as Matrix and client established safety standards.
Perform design and engineering functions in accordance with accepted practices and company standards.
Perform design calculations related to tasks assigned.
Prepare project scope of work, specifications, preliminary design concepts, and cost estimates, other necessary documents for projects.
Assist in gathering field data and preparing project designs.
Participate as a team member, contributing ideas and solutions.
Prepare project correspondence as required.
Maintain positive client relationships on projects assigned.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
Four-year ABET accredited Bachelor's of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)
Four (4) to nine (9) years of related structural engineering experience in the design of structural steel and foundation systems for buildings and equipment
Engineer-in-Training Certification (EIT) required
Experience with structural engineering analysis design tools is required
Must be able to travel approximately 5 - 10% overnight
Professional Engineer Certification (PE) preferred
Industrial, Food & Beverage, Chemical and Metals experience preferred
3D structural modeling experience preferred
Surveying and construction cost estimating experience preferred
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
This position must also be able to perform industrial field work which may include hazardous locations, ladders, and stairs.
