Growing light manufacturing company with semi-skilled, diverse work force is looking for an experienced plant manager.
This is NOT an administrative or office position. You must be hands on and a constant facilitator on the production floor. You will be expected to manage both an established supervisory staff and employees in a time urgent production setting.
The successful candidate must always meet daily production requirements while continuously gaining improvements in both productivity and quality. You will be given broad authority and must have strong communication skills and a management style that is compatible with our time urgent culture to train, coach, develop and implement process improvements and monitor progress. You must be able to multi-task and possess the computer skills necessary to manage systems, effect change and measure productivity.
**Note: This is not an office job. At least 80% of your time will be spent on the plant floor directing operations
A Pittsburgh production and fulfillment center is seeking a Production/Plant Manager to direct the day to day operations of the factory. The right candidate will posses the following (please do not apply if you do not meet the following requirements):
Â·Â Â Minimum of a 4 year degree in Business, Management, Industrial Operations, or other similar degree.
Â·Â Â A minimum of 5 years in a managerial role in a production facility.
Â·Â Â Experience managing a diverse workforce.
Â·Â Â A working knowledge of manufacturing systems including Lean, 5S, constraint management, and Six-Sigma.
Â·Â Â Working and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Â·Â Â Ability to multi-task in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.
Â·Â Â A strong commitment to safety.
Other responsibilities include:
Â·Â Â Managing capacity to ensure the right product mix to hit daily schedules.
Â·Â Â Coordinating factory equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
Â·Â Â Engage, coach, and mentor direct report supervisors.
Â·Â Â Identify waste and other opportunities for process improvements.
Â·Â Â Manage factory efficiency models; report factory safety/quality/output targets and progress to set goals.
Â·Â Â Basic statistical analysis of factory metrics.
Â·Â Â Other duties as assigned.
Candidates who have experience in an industrial manufacturing setting will be given priority. This position will have 4-6 direct reports and will report to the VP of Operations.
